Thermography
What is Digital Thermography?
Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging (or Thermography) is a non-invasive test that uses an infrared camera to detect and measure abnormal thermal changes in the body. In general, problem areas show high tissue temperatures due to increased blood flow and increased metabolic activity. Thermal changes can often be the earliest sign of vascular disease, immune dysfunction, and systemic inflammation. Recording these thermal patterns can aid in diagnosing and/or monitoring inflammation, pain, or illness in any part of the body, and can help provide warning signs to areas of concern whether or not you are experiencing symptoms.
Thermography tests your body's physiology, in comparison to other tests (X-ray, mammograms, ultrasound, MRI) which test the structure or anatomy of your body. The scan is non-invasive, produces no radiation, is economical, and is medically approved technology.

Indications for Thermography
Thermography can be used to aid in the diagnosis and prognosis of a variety of conditions including, but not limited to:
- Autoimmune Dysfunction;
- Breast Disease;
- Cardiac Dysfunction;
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome;
- Inflammatory Disease;
- Nerve Dysfunction;
- Stroke Screening;
- TMJ Dysfunction, and more!
Thermography is often used as a screening tool for early detection of breast disease, which is frequently the key to successfully treating these conditions. It offers a viable option for women who should: not be exposed to radiation, are post-surgery, under the age of 50, have dense breasts, or have breast implants.
How We Can Help You!
Healing Touch will be offering Thermography services in our clinic approximately every three months (usually Jan, Apr, July, Oct). The scan is performed by a trained technician, and the images are sent to medical doctors (U.S. Board Certified MD Thermologists) to review and generate a report. Dr. Cheryl then helps interpret the results and provides recommendations for follow up.
OUR NEXT CLINIC: TUES. OCT. 04, 2022
