General Pain
Understanding your pain...
When pain occurs it should be recognized as a signal that somewhere in your body a problem has surfaced. People shrug pain off everyday thinking it will work its way out, but that may not be the case. You might need to seek professional help to correct and maintain the problem.
There are 2 types of pain you could be suffering from:
Acute Pain
This pain is new to the body and can be caused by a sprain/strain, cut, broken bone etc. The pain can be mild to severe and will usually dissipate with healing.
Chronic Pain
This pain is different and more long-standing; it might be accompanied by insomnia, exhaustion, even weight changes and can last up to six months or more. Many look to painkillers to alleviate these symptoms, which seems like a logical thing to do since no one wants to live in the discomfort of pain. However, painkillers mask only the pain, not the cause of the problem. By determining and treating the source of the pain, the reduction in symptoms will follow.
